Redressing Grievances with Cops

If you are thinking about this one I have to tell you 1: You're nuts, and 2: Your not alone. Article 13 of the New York State Constitution gives the Govenor of New York the power and authority to adress any greivances any constituant may have against any police in the State of New York. Currently, we have a Govenor who has been found to have been making illegal requests from police in the whole "Trooper Gate Scandle" so if you think you can get him to listen without 5000 of your closet friends or relatives, think again.

There are many things wrong with our society and this is one of the big ones. Police corruption and retaliation has built up in this state at an alarming rate and thats just the reported incidents. Many go unreported on a daily basis. Many are small and superficial but still in the eyes of the LAW (in the books) it doesnt matter what god for saken last name you have, what color your skin is, what your religion or sexual preferences are, and yes even what clothes you wear. The law is for everyone. So as a citizen and you see the police do something illegal what can you do?

As far as where to File them...

You are Supposed to file it with your Local Internal Affairs unit, but truth be told, dont expect a fair and impartial investigation. There is a lack of patrol officers in the state right now and it is better to have bad cops then no cops at all. These bad cops know there will be no repercussions for their action and there for do whatever they want.

I went so high as the Superintendants office himself. Preston Felton in my opinion is an over glorified chimpanzee. I don't know how many times I told him that the IA unit he kept routing my call to was covering up the investigation and threatened me (which I recorded with skype) and yet still he kept sending me to Captain Perez of IAB who was the one doing the afformentioned issues.

Again, its an issue of discrimination based on title and guess what, according to the US Constitution, no person in the United States may hold a title granting qualities of nobility. you can try them but dont expect much really.

I spoke to the chief inspector one night about my cop issue and he was very polite and knowledgable. A rare quality in government these days. If you go any route go this route

As a back up I would also suggest that you contact your local news casters via email or by phone and tell them detailed what evidence you might posses.
